Early mornings

Although I've definitely spent more than my share of mornings on the wrong side of the butt crack of dawn, I would never call myself a morning person. In fact, I hate getting up early, and there's nothing better than waking up to the sun on your back to help you face the new day. It probably comes as no surprise then that I also am an early riser in the summer and one heck of a late riser in the winter.

That's where Amanda comes in. Amanda is pretty much incapable of waking up after 8 am and even though I complain often about her shoving me out of bed in the morning, she is a Godsend in the winter. Without her, I'd never get anywhere I'm supposed to be or get anything done on the weekends.

For those of you who do get up before the dawn and milk the candlelight on the back end of the day as well, you can empathize with me on how crappy it is to have to wake up every day in the dark and then struggle through the day just to do it again. Having someone to wake up with every day is that inspiration to me to keep doing it over and over again. Knowing that Amanda is there, doing the same thing and that we are both fighting that urge to roll back over is my motivation to actually follow through and get up in the morning. It's all about support, and that's why this morning, I'm thankful to be married.
